Last Sunday me and Gaz went for a 17 mile paddle down the River Conwy in the Canadian Canoe. It took us just over 5 hours and as such for a couple of days afterwards i was walking around like an ironing board due to the incredible pain in all my muscles. I managed to do a 3 miler in the week and i have just got back from doing a 4 miler in the hills. Rubbish training so far but i will soon sort it out.Continue Reading
The old pins are hurting after doing some good running over the last few days. Not huge mileage (that’s to come) but i have been putting a lot of effort into a few 4 milers. I am only going for a quick 3 miles in the morning.
Taking the canoe down the River Conwy tommorow should be quite interesting dodging all the Yachts as we paddle into Conwy Marina sometime tomorrow afternoon :)Continue Reading
Great site for uploading your training data. You can use all sorts of gadgets to do so.Continue Reading
The Reading Half Marathon is next on the list (i have a list). This is in March so not really that long to train but just enough i think to get my arse around in some sort of order. I had a days rest after Sundays race. On Tuesday i went for a 4 miler and another 4 miler today.
This is that list.
- Nick Beer 10km
- Reading Half Marathon
- Chester Half Marathon
Hey no one said it was a long list.Continue Reading
Just got back from doing the Nick Beer 10km Road Race and i got a pb of 48.07. Well chuffed with this time after the crap preparation. Everyone shot off like a bolt at the start but the first 5km is all uphill and what a bloody hill. So i held back and just plodded on in a normal sort of training mode pace. After about 4km the patience paid off and i started picking off people one by one.
The downhill bit i just let fly but i still found this quite hard going. I had a good strong finish. The best and most pleasing thing about all this was i didn’t hide at all and gave it everything i had.Continue Reading
I have only been doing the odd 3 or 4 miles here and there just to keep ticking along. I have a 10km race this Sunday. So the preparation didn’t go as planned as the cold is just finishing itself off now.
Yesterday i took the day off work and went out on Bala Lake in North Wales in a friends Canadian Canoe. Great fun and we camped out on a little shore for the night. Woke up this morning and the tents had a nice layer of snow on them.
