Run Walk Run Walk

Written by Phil on January 8th, 2012. Posted in Running

Is all i can manage at the moment. Running after a serious chest infection is like starting all over again. I really cant manage a few miles without walking every half mile or so. Still coughing up big brown lumps (enjoy your breakfast)

Just have to keep at it. Fuck it!

Bag

My kids are just massive disease bags and as such i have been ill for about a month. The latest thing is a nasty chest infection that has me pole-axed for about a week. I managed to get out on New Years Day for a very gentle 3 miler. We are talking walking pace at the moment but 3 miles is still 3 miles. Im off out now for a quick bimbble down the beech.

Oh Happy New Year!

Or about 4 degrees or so but I’m in wimp mode. So unfit. I went out with the intention of doing 4 miles. I did 2.7. Not to disappointed but I am far from my best. So with a shrug and heavy uncontrolled breathing I went home.

It’s a start.

151 mph Wind!

Written by Phil on December 8th, 2011. Posted in Training

Not where i live so that title has nothing to do with this post. However it was windy and it was cold. Despite that i convinced myself (sucker!) that it was a good idea to at least get outside and raise my heart rate a little. Which turned out to be a tough old slog because im in an unfit state at the moment. This is going to be a hard winter of training but i determined to see it through for once so i can enjoy training in the spring.

Sooo Cooold!

I have just recovered from a nasty cold or as my kids would say “A Proper Cold” My face was streaming with snot and who knows what else it is a wonderful site to behold. I haven’t run past 5 miles for a long time and i didn’t today. I ran 2 miles at a very slow pace and im not scared to admit it hurt. It hurt like hell.
